Prime WA fishing areas are to be closed for most popular species for much of the year, in a misguided attempt to preserve fish stocks.
There is a better way that will:
- do more to protect fish stocks
- preserve the recreational, family and economic values of fishing
- keep the fishing retail and boating industry alive
- maintain fishing tourism income to coastal towns
